Johnny Galecki (Leonard Hofstadter)
Johnny Galecki, who played the lovable Leonard, took a seven-year break from acting after The Big Bang Theory. But he's back on stage this September, portraying playwright Tennessee Williams in the play Kowalski at Chicago's Lookingglass Theatre. Galecki wrote on Instagram, 'For the last seven years, I’ve been fortunate enough to spend more time living than performing. It turns out those aren’t separate pursuits for me.'
Galecki also became a father after The Big Bang Theory ended. He welcomed son Avery with ex-girlfriend Alaina Meyer in 2019 and daughter Oona with wife Morgan Galecki in 2024.
Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper)
Jim Parsons, who played the eccentric Sheldon, has been keeping busy with a variety of projects. He provided voiceover narration for Young Sheldon, a prequel series about his Big Bang Theory character's childhood. Parsons has also starred in films like Spoiler Alert and The Leader, as well as the Netflix miniseries Hollywood. In 2024, he earned a Tony nomination for the Broadway production Mother Play. He is currently starring as Ruth DeWitt Bukater in the Broadway musical Titanic.
Kaley Cuoco (Penny)
Kaley Cuoco, who played the lovable Penny, has been keeping busy with a string of thriller series. She starred in and executive produced HBO Max's The Flight Attendant, Peacock's Based on a True Story, and MGM+'s Vanished. Her role as Cassie Bowden in The Flight Attendant earned her an Emmy nomination in 2022. Cuoco has also starred in films like The Man From Toronto, Meet Cute, and Role Play.
Cuoco finalized her divorce from equestrian Karl Cook in 2022. She began dating actor Tom Pelphrey that same year. Cuoco and Pelphrey welcomed their daughter, Matilda, in March 2023 and announced their engagement in August 2024.
Simon Helberg (Howard Wolowitz)
Simon Helberg, who played the lovable Howard, has since starred in films like Annette, As They Made Us, Space Oddity, and For Worse. He had a recurring role in the Peacock series Poker Face and currently stars in the AMC dark comedy drama The Audacity.
Kunal Nayyar (Rajesh "Raj" Koothrappali)
Kunal Nayyar, who played the charming Raj, went on to star in the Apple TV series Suspicion as well as films like Think Like a Dog, Spaceman, How to Date Billy Walsh, and Christmas Karma. Nayyar also co-founded the digital asset management platform IQ121, which launched in September 2025. The app had nearly 40,000 active users at the end of 2025.
Melissa Rauch (Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz)
Melissa Rauch, who played the lovable Bernadette, joined the Big Bang Theory cast during season 3. She went on to star as Abby Stone in the NBC sitcom Night Court, which aired from 2023 to 2025. Rauch co-founded the pediatric cancer charity Oscar's Kids with her husband, Winston Rauch. The nonprofit organization funds pediatric cancer research and connects impacted families with advocates and other resources.
Mayim Bialik (Amy Farrah Fowler)
Mayim Bialik, who played the brilliant Amy, joined the Big Bang Theory cast during season 3. She went on to write and direct the 2022 film As They Made Us, which Helberg starred in. She also starred in the Fox sitcom Call Me Kat and hosted Jeopardy! from 2021 to 2023. Bialik has hosted the podcast Mayim Bialik's Breakdown since 2021.
The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on HBO Max. The spinoff Stuart Fails to Save the Universe premieres on HBO Max on Thursday, July 23, at 9 p.m. ET. New episodes will air every Thursday. While the show is firmly rooted in reality, the spinoff is science fiction, following Stuart's quest to restore reality after he unwittingly creates a multiverse Armageddon by breaking a device built by Big Bang Theory characters Sheldon and Leonard.
